Park home residents left high and dry
Desperately worrying news for the residents of the park home site outside Beverley, East Yorks.

I reported last September how meizitang zisu they'd bought homes at Lakeminster Park, which promised they could "retire in style".

But Lakeminster, run by William and Pamela Flannigan, was built without residential planning permission.

The firm has failed at a public inquiry to get retrospective permission and also the residents have 18 months to conform with enforcement notices to leave.

Some paid 130,000 for houses, without idea they were illegally erected, and now the buildings are worthless and will presumably be demolished.

Gosschalks solicitors of Hull, which represents 59 owners, is getting ready to sue for five.5million compensation.

"The claim is against Mr Flannigan personally for misrepresentation and against solicitors who acted for our clients when choosing their houses for
professional negligence," Gosschalks said.

Festival revellers given wrong dates
Music lover Sean Hendrie and 4 mates flew to Spain for that Benicassim festival, headlined by Kasabian.

They'd booked their return flight for the day the festival was because of end, but the organisers' own website had got the date from meizitang new the last day wrong by
Twenty four hours. That meant that the campsite closed yesterday the lads' return flight, leaving them spending for any hotel.

Despite the fact that organisers Maraworld admitted the dates blunder, it refused any compensation, telling Sean: "So sorry for that inconveniences, we can
not do anything whatsoever that will help you."
